The TF-Detector is an electrically operated device that measures the iron (ferrous) powder density of the lubricator oil and detects magnetic micro particles with a high sensitivity of less than 20ppm and a resolution higher than 5ppm. Also detects accurately the condition of parts and equipment subject to tear and wear (such as bearings, gears, etc.) Disorder and abrasion of these parts can be avoided if used as an accident arrester, as an energy saving device to reduce lubrication and as a quality control machinery to measure ferrous powder density in various materials. The device cannot measure ionized and/or oxidized iron, it measures magnetism. The combination of a TF-Detector and the recommended piping arrangement realize precise monitoring of piston friction even with a small amount of drain oil. Notes: The amount of suspended particles in the drain oil has a strong relationship to the condition of the piston in a reciprocating engine and therefore the operating condition can be monitored by assessing the amount of suspended particles in the drain oil. This detector enables on line continuous high resolution measurement of the concentration of abrasive particles in drain oil for accurate monitoring of piston friction. The TF-Detector has a self-compensating function, so it is not affected by accumulation of sludge in the drain oil or the surrounding environment.
